Cloud IaaS
Unmanaged Infrastructure-as-a-Service on Icarus's own Australian footprint. Compute, storage, and networking on a single transparent pricing model. Create an account, configure a VM, deploy in under 90 seconds — no procurement cycle, no contract, no carbon hangover.

Configured VM
What you get with Icarus IaaS
What's not in the product, on purpose: no co-location, no managed services. The hardware story stays Icarus-owned; the operating system upwards stays yours.
Compute
Customer-configured virtual machines on Apache CloudStack, provisioned on Icarus-owned hardware. Standard CPU, memory, and storage profiles configurable per VM.
Storage
Block storage attached to VMs, with snapshot and backup capability. Object storage on the roadmap; not on the launch surface.
Networking
Private networks per account, public IPv4 and IPv6, configurable security groups, transparent egress costs.
Australian regions
Sovereign infrastructure on Icarus's own datacenter footprint. Region detail is available to authenticated accounts; physical locations are not public.
API access
Full programmatic control via the CloudStack API and a REST surface for automation, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.
How deployment works
There is no procurement bottleneck because there is no procurement step. The CTA is 'Create account', not 'Book a demo'.
01
Create an account at my.icaruscloud.com.au. WHMCS handles billing, identity, and the account record. Pre-launch accounts are queued; provisioning unlocks at launch.
02
Pick a VM specification, region, and image. Attach storage and networking. Add SSH keys.
03
Submit. The VM is provisioned, networked, and reachable in under 90 seconds. Programmatic equivalents work the same way through the API.
Specs and SLA
| Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Uptime target | 99.99% network and platform availability — defended in the SLA wording on each customer's contract. Live status published on the public status page. |
| Redundancy | N+N at the platform layer — fault-tolerant power, network, and hypervisor paths with automated failover. Architecture detail on the Infrastructure page. |
| Backups | Snapshot capability included; customer-managed backup policy. Customers retain responsibility for data within the VM (OS, application stack, in-VM backup configuration). |
| Security posture | ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certified at launch — both targeting issuance by mid-2026. See Security for the full posture and the formal review pack. |
Carbon-negative by architecture, not just offset
Climate-negative operation is included with every VM. There is no green premium and no separate ESG surcharge. The architectural reduction lowers the cost of running the network, and the verified offset stack sits inside the unit economics. The claim is defended on the methodology page.
What's included by default
What you bring
Customer responsibility: operating system, application stack, in-VM configuration, scaling decisions, in-VM security and patching, and your backup policy. Icarus owns hardware, hypervisor, network, power, cooling, physical security, and the climate-negative outcome. The boundary is deliberate, and it sits where the better-known cloud control plane sits.
